The scale note closest to the input pitch is identified as the target note. Like Auto-Tune 7, Auto-Tune EFX 2’s pitch correction works by continuously tracking the pitch of a vocal and comparing it to the notes in a (customizable) scale. Having said that, I think this update is a step in the right direction for a great price. I actually took advantage of the EFX 1 promotion and bought the plug-in and I must say, its a quick fix for a rough vocal track but not an end-all-be-all solution to get a final vocal product out. Well shortly after Antares announces Auto-Tune EFX for $50.00, they release the EFX 2 Plug-in with major upgrades.
